Dr. Du prepares students for Advanced and Extension 1 exams in one Maths course. At Plume, each has its own weekly class. Plume costs less for Advanced alone; taking both courses costs more and includes more scheduled hours.

Year 12 fees and hours
Standard fees in Australian dollars, before discounts. Dr. Du's figures are for the in-person courses in its Chatswood Term 4, 2026 timetable for the 2027 HSC cohort. Plume's classes are in Epping.
| Option | Plume | Dr. Du |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced only | A$900 for ten 2.5-hour sessions | A$928 for ten sessions; Sunday timetable gives 11:15 am to 1:45 pm |
| Advanced and Extension 1 | A$1,850 for two courses, each with ten 2.5-hour sessions | A$1,360 for ten combined 3.25-hour sessions |
| Extension 1 separately | A$950 per 10-week term | Included in the combined course above |
Dr. Du's dated price list, pages 3 and 4 gives a 2.5-hour Advanced class. Its general Year 12 page says three hours, so the selected class duration needs confirmation.
New students at Dr. Du also pay a non-refundable A$65 enrolment fee under its payment terms. Plume has no new-student administration fee. That makes the Advanced starting total A$993 at Dr. Du and A$900 at Plume: A$93 less, including the A$28 tuition difference.
For combined Advanced and Extension 1, Plume's tuition is A$490 higher. It provides 50 scheduled group hours across two weekly classes, against Dr. Du's 32.5 hours in one. The extra 17.5 hours includes assessment time as well as teaching and questions.
Maths teaching and exam practice
Dr. Du uses an entrance test to place students in introductory B-series or faster A-series classes, with reviews each term. Its programme includes homework, weekly quizzes and simulation exams, plus several rounds of revision. Course levels, Year 12 programme.
Plume's HSC exam specialists teach classes of no more than eight. We explain the mathematical idea, work through examples and ask students to choose a method themselves. Advanced lessons might connect a graph to a calculation or explain what an integration question asks for. In Extension 1, we teach students to break a problem into steps and use earlier results.
Your class tutor marks homework and practice responses. Weekly timed quizzes and a supervised term exam check how well you can apply the Maths under pressure. Our Advanced worked questions and Extension 1 practice exam show the work involved.
Dr. Du's published course information does not specify a Maths class maximum or who routinely marks homework.
Trial payment and campuses
Dr. Du's paid two-lesson trial applies to eligible single-term enrolments in a new subject. The first two lessons remain payable; refunds for unused lessons must be requested before lesson three. Multi-term enrolments have no trial, and changing Maths levels does not count as a new subject.
Plume's two-week trial is free if you leave during the trial. If you enrol, both trial weeks are included in your term fees. Our payment policy covers payments and discounts.
